Paintings, drawings and prints from conception to completion. A view of the progression of new studio work.

Paintings, prints and drawings are all made to a finish in a purpose built studio building (pictured below). Before moving to our Open Studios for final completion in early morning sessions within a clean and organised environment.

Built swiftly in 2000 by myself with Alex Abelman and friends, this studio is designed to incorporate elements which are useful and practical.

Features I enjoy

  • Top lighting at either end of the roof
  • A tall 'working wall' on one side
  • A north facing extremely large door, when open the workspace feels much like being in the landscape
  • Printing press and adjoining work table under a window with a pleasing view
  • The floor is elevated well above the surrounding ground/shingle level
  • Multiple plug sockets in each corner
  • Canvas faced thick wooden interior walls that can be nailed or screwed
  • A ceiling fan - warm in winter/cool in summer
  • Pulley system and hoist in the centre beam of the roof
